It 6:30 am on Friday here in China, 4:30 pm Thursday for you all. Only 7 more days! We can do this!
These lasts couple of days we have been waiting on behind the scenes paperwork. Yesterday we receivea huge stack of official looking notarized documents to take to the consulate inGuangzhou. Today we should receive Penelope's passport then we can leave Zhengzhou tomorrow morning. We will definitely be ready for the change. Guangzhou is much warmer, weather says it will be in the 70's next week.
So yesterday was basically more down time. We had breakfast at the hotel and then played in the room. Penelope is playing more with her stacking cups and now with some little bracelets.
She is still very shy, doesn't make a lot of eye contact.
Sucking her thumb after bath. Love this! Bath courtesy of another blow out diaper. Poop in her socks and up to her armpits.
We went down to the park agin, this time with Vern and Terry and their 2 sweet boys, Joshua and Elijah. Their boys are so cute and hilarious! They are both under 2. Vern and Terry are the perfect people for this. They just take it all in stride. Needless to say, people looked at us like we were a circus side show. Gabe stayed back in the room and worked on his homework.
The park had a little goldfish pond with people fishing for the goldfish. Not sure what they would do with them once they caught them?
Shrimp Flakes anyone?
People were openly taking pictures of us so we asked them to take our picture too.
Even walking a couple blocks back down to the hotel is an intersting site...
Penelope and I played in the room while Jason and Gabe went to the fitness center to play some pin pong.
We headed to wal mart for more diapers and snacks for Penelope. We ate at Pizza Hut where Jason made friends with the manager named Jason. Manager Jason gave us a VIP discount. He was happy to practice his English with us. China Pizza Hut pizza was very good. Not exactly like home but not weird. This was the first place that had ice in their drinks. Common wisdom is too avoid the ice because you're not supposed to drink the water but Gabe and I decided we would live on the edge. Still no diet coke.
Not sure why Gabe went with the saltine crackers? Something familiar I guess?
Back to the room where we Facetimed with the boys and Mam & Bamp. Dexter has learned to jump rope so he was happy to show off. We are so glad to see them, but it's hard, we miss them so much. Quincy finally talked to us a little. He just needed to know the password for his Nabi tablet. I'll take what I can get!
