Care Package Time!!

Once we received our PA from China, our agency told us we could send Penelope a care package. (FYI, it still feels new to type Penelope, you still may see me call her Zi Shu at times. Her full name will be Penelope Mei ZiShu Fulton.)  They say the orphanage may not even know your baby has a family until it's time for them to leave. Sending a care package lets us send her something, but also gives the orphanage a heads up that she has a MaMa and BaBa (Chinese for mommy and daddy) that love her.

This was super exciting! I'd done some shopping for our girl, but now we know that this is the first thing she'll receive from us. The package needed to be equivalent to shoe box size.
How do you fit all that love in a shoe box??

I think we did pretty well. We sent her 4 outfits, socks, a disposable camera (hope they will take pics of her then we get it back when we pick her up), 2 baby toys, a soft photo album, some smarties to share with her friends, and a lovey, or nanky as the Fulton Fam calls it.

Her photo album.

Our agency sent us labels so each picture is marked with the English and Chinese word for Mother, brother, grandma, etc.

You may notice her photo album was labeled Dang Zi Shu. Dang is the Chinese equivalent of her last name, but they put it first in China. Every child in her orphanage is given the same last name. Every. Single. Child. We need to get this girl home!

There was no Chinese label for "we promise to take you to Walt Disney World every year" apparently they forgot that one?

All boxed up and ready to go. We have no way to know whether she got it or not. I pray pray pray that she did. I hope her Nanny's show her pictures of us and help her prepare for what will be a huge transition.

We want Penelope to know we think about her all the time and pray for her every day. Dex and I had some fun with sidewalk chalk. Can't wait till next summer when she will be with us to color herself!!!
